Impact HighLine teams will once again be taking the show on the road this season. We will be competing in Oklahoma, Houston, Spokane, Minneapolis, and Atlanta.
These events are an opportunity for our teams to compete against some of the best teams in the state and the nation. Additionally, these larger scale events are great for recruiting exposure. While it is certainly exciting to compete outside of region, these are not vacations. We are going to each tournament in the hopes that we will win the event. All of our coordinating decisions bear this simple goal in mind.
We will be driving to the tournaments in Houston. It is each player’s responsibility to get to the team hotel at the designated time. Coaches are not allowed to give the players rides to the event. Team coaches will communicate the meeting time for each of these events. The entire club will be staying in one hotel in a block of rooms. 13-and-under players must either stay in a room with their parents or in a room with another Impact parent. All other team players must stay in team rooms with 2 or three teammates. Room assignments will be given by the coach prior to each event.
It is each player’s responsibility to get a flight to the team hotel at the designated time for the Pacific Northwest Qualifier in Spokane Washington, Minneapolis Minnesota, and Atlanta Georgia. All Hotel arrangements will be made by Impact, including transportation to and from the convention center on game days. Once we arrive at our hotel, all of the same accommodation stipulations from Houston and Oklahoma apply.
Coaches will be coordinating the team’s activity before, during, and after scheduled play. Again, we are not going on vacation. We are going to compete and our plans during the non-playing time will take this into account.
HighLine team fees will incorporate the hotel expenses. This decision has been made to simplify and streamline our processes by reducing the number of payments needing to be made. If our travel cost estimates exceed the actual costs we will either reimburse the difference or use the additional funds to purchase team meals while we are on the road.
Any questions regarding travel arrangements should be directed to Trent Tharp. He may be reached at ttharp@impactvb.com.
