Nicholas Gay - 17's

Nick will be in his 5th season of coaching competitive club volleyball. He played 4 seasons at Texas Tech University as a setter/libero on the indoor team where he was named 2nd Team All Big 12 setter as a senior. While in Lubbock, he coached at the premier volleyball club, Texas Power where his 15 Team finished 3rd in the Sun County Regional Tournament. He later assisted the Texas United 17 Team under Eddie Trevino that qualified for nationals. At Impact last year, Nick coached the 14 Highline team. He currently is the Freshman Volleyball Coach at Rockwall-Heath High School. He graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Marketing and is currently working on his Masters in Secondary Education.



Samantha Zentz - Floater Coach

Sam played volleyball at Texas A&M Commerce University for four years while pursuing her bachelor degree. During that time she coached club at TAV in Fort Worth for two seasons. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree and currently works for KPMG LLP in recruiting.

Kayla Hanzelka - 14 Classic

Kayla brings 3 years of coaching experience with her to Impact. After spending one season with a small private club, she coached for two seasons with TAV in Fort Worth. She played on scholarship at Texas A&M Commerce University from 2001 - 2004. While at Commerce she set an individual record as the #6 All-Time Digs Leader and was recognized on the Academic All Star LSC Team during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. She graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration / Human Resource in May of 2005 and is currently working on a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

Sarah Amidon - 15 Highline
Coach Amidon recently completed her first year of collegiate coaching with Western Illinois University as the Grad Assistant after graduating from Indiana State University in 2006. As a Right Side / Middle Hitter with the Sycamores, Amidon was a four-year starter who held career averages of 2.11 kills per game with .255 hitting percentage, the sixth-best in ISU history. As a senior, she finished the season as the active career-leader in kills with 621 and blocks with 168. She recieved First Team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honors for maintaining a 4.0 GPA in Communication Studies (minor in Psychology). She was a part of a tour Bring It Promotions to Europe where she competed with other college players in Prague, Czech Republic. Two high school club seasons with Unlimited led to Junior Olympic National Championship Bronze Medals in 2001 and 2002.
Impact Volleyball Club

Coach Thomas earned his Bachelors Degree from Southwestern Assembly of God University. He spent 12 years as the head varsity volleyball coach at Rockwall Christian Academy, amassing an impressive 250 victories during that tenure. Tommy also coached 4 seasons of club volleyball with Ignite International. He has owned and operated his Construction Masonry Business in the Rockwall / Dallas area for over 25 years.
Kelly Johnson - Floater Coach
Kelly grew up in Oklahoma and recently moved to Rockwall after graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. She started playing volleyball in grade school and began club ball at 13. She played for Oklahoma Wind and Oklahoma Force until she was 17. As a three year varsity player at her high school Kelly helped take her team to state each year and made the all-state team her senior year.

Maggie Younger - 12 Classic
Coach Younger is currently in her fourth year as the head volleyball coach at Rockwall-Heath High School. She graduated from Emory Rains High School in 1993 where she recieved honors in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track. She then attended Collin County Community College on a full volleyball scholarship. She recieved Honorable Mention All-American and then recieved a full scholarship in volleyball to NCAA Division 1 Northwester Louisiana State University.
       While finishing her degree at the University of North Texas, Maggie was Assistant Coach at Collin County Community College where she helped her team to the NJCAA National Tournament. Before coming to Rockwall-Heath, Coach Younger was the Head Coach at Plano High School. Along with high school and college coaching experience, she has been actively involved as a coach and mentor in the North Texas Region for the past 10 years.

Aimee Hamsher - 13 Highline

Aimee is the Head Volleyball Coach at Crandall High School. Previoulsy, she was the Assistant Varsity coach at Rockwall-Heath High School. She has also coached volleyball in Mesquite ISD and Wylie ISD. She has been coaching USAV Club Volleyball for 5 years. Coach Hamsher is entering her 7th year of coaching high school sports and will be continuing in her teaching field of Special Education. Coach Hamsher played volleyball for two years at Tomball Junior College and went on to graduate from Southwest Texas State University in 2000.

Trent Tharp - 14 Highline

Trent is the Head Volleyball Coach at Royse City High School. Before coming to Royse City he coached volleyball at J.J. Pearce High School. He has coached USVBA Club Volleyball in the North Texas Region for the past 5 years.

Playing Experience: Travis was a three time varsity starter at Royal High School in Simi Valley, California. During that tenure he led his team to three district championships, two state championships, and one state runner-up. He was named district MVP twice and earned the State Player of the Year Award in 1992. He was named to the Top 50 high school recruits in 1992 and trained with the junior national team in Colorado Springs. After high school, Travis was the starting setter at UC San Diego and then transferred to Cal State Northridge, where he started as the setter of the 4th ranked Division 1 Matadors in 1995.

Coaching Experience: Travis coached at his high school alma mater from 1993 to 2006. He was the head boys varsity coach 2001 to 2006, leading multiple district championship teams, as well as, two state champions. Travis was the head girls volleyball coach at Royal High School from 1998-2003. He coached multiple district championship teams, and his team took the state championship in 1998. He coached the 15 Highline team for IVC last season. Travis' former players have gone on to receive scholarships in many Division 1 programs including UCLA, USC, Syracuse, UCSB, Cal State Northridge, Pepperdine, BYU and Cal Berkley.  His players have achieved recognition as NCAA Division 1 champions, as well as, international professional volleyball athletes.  Travis was also invited to coach in the prestigious Marv Dunphy Volleyball Camps at Pepperdine University.
